Description
Vor fast vierzig Jahren, am 28. Januar 1976, starb in Köln der belgische Künstler Marcel Broodthaers. Mit seiner Ausstellung möchte das Wallraf an den international bedeutenden Künstler, Poeten, Fotografen und Filmemacher erinnern, der auch als Ausstellungsmacher und Kurator des von ihm selbst gegründeten und nach kurzer Zeit wieder geschlossenen Musée d'Art Moderne tätig war. Doch sind in Köln keine Kunstwerke oder Objekte von Broodthaers zu sehen, vielmehr orientiert sich die Schau an der experimentellen Ausstellungspraxis des Künstlers, oder um es mit seinen Worten zu sagen: 'Ihr Ergebnis stand nicht von Anfang an fest'. Es geht um kunsthistorische Ordnungssysteme sowie um verschiedene Formen der Repräsentation von Papierarbeiten, die alle aus der Graphischen Sammlung des Wallraf-Richartz-Museums stammen. Es wird somit keine herkömmliche Ausstellung sein, die das Kölner Museum im Sommer 2016 zum Gedenken an der Künstler zeigt, sondern eine 'Versuchsanordnung' im 'Stil des Arrangements' (Broodthaers).
