The Committee of the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade think it necessary to acquaint their friends that although they cannot contemplate without feelings of the deepest regret the unexpected and accidental failure of the attempt recently made in Parliament to put a period to this horrid traffic, yet they are far from being discouraged by that circumstance from perservering in their efforts
