[Letter to] My dear sir

Description

Estlin sends an "early number of a new London journal called the 'Daily News' of which Mr. [Charles] Dickens is said to be one of the Editors but said to be not connected with the political articles." This copy contained the first of a series of articles on the abolition movement. He mentions Joseph Sturge as favoring the Liberty Party. Estlin thinks that Henry Ware's anti-slavery activities after 1835 were omitted from his biography. He tells May that he is trying to write a short statement of the aims of the abolitionists and asks May's opinion of the efforts to obtain free grown cotton from India.
