I. Whether in all ages there is not a visible Catholick Church? II. Whether out of the visible Catholick Church any can attain Salvation? III. Seeing there be many Professions amongst Christi- ans, which give themselves out to be the Holy Catho- lick Church, or part of it; which, amongst all, would I design to be the now Holy Catholick Church? IV. Whether the Catholick Church, so designed, can teach her children any Error as matter of Christian Faith, either destructive of, or endangering the at- tainment of Salvation? V. If the said Catholick Church can teach such Errors as matters of Faith, how any Christian can infallibly be certain that she hath not taught some Error in de- termining the Canon of Scripture, and in delivering some Book or Books for the Word of God which are not so? In an Epistle to my good Friend and Cousin who was employed to send them, and very ear- nestly desired satisfaction in them
