whereas to a treaty concluded at the city of Washington, in the District of Columbia, on the nineteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, between the United States of America and the Cherokee Nation of Indians, through their respective representatives, a supplemental article was made and concluded at the city of Washington, in the District of Columbia, on the twenty-seventh day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, by and between Nathaniel G. Taylor, commissioner on the part of the United States, and Lewis Downing, H.D. Reese, Samuel Smith, Wm. P. Adair, J.P. Davis, Elias C. Boudinot, J.A. Scales, and Arch.
