Description

The Exhibition "Kunst im Werden" gives insights into the design work and thoughts of 18 leading artists of the Fine Arts class of the Sächsischen Akademie der Künste (H. Ebersbach, W. Förster, E. Göschel, G. Graubner, R. Kerbach, G. Lepke, W. Libuda, U. Lindner, M. Morgner, C. Nicolai, O. Osten, T. Richter, C. Schleime, J. Schön, G. Schulze Eldowy, Strawalde, G. Uecker, M. Uhlig). The exhibition shows how the artists think ahead, plan and experiment with the help of drawing, painting, graphic, literary or photographic media. It shows how a work is developed systematically and that it can be just as meaningful to spontaneously act on impulse. But the works in this exhibition also refer to doubt, correction and rejection. The aesthetic allure of the works often lies therein, that the artistic intentions are still open. There are many intermediate stages in the work of creation, whose potentiality outweighs their manifest character. The spectrum ranges from concept sketches through preparatory drawings, image and composition studies in the classical sense to conceptually-formulated picture intentions.
