Dos parejas cuyas historias de amor se cruzan de la manera más sorprendente... Un hombre de noventa años se encuentra solo en una carretera nevada después de haber tenido un accidente en un paraje aislado. Tan solo consciente a ratos y en espera de que le rescaten, aparece ante él el amor de su vida, quien murió hace un tiempo. En el espacio que separa la realidad y la imaginación, recuerdan su vida juntos; cómo superaron el trauma de no poder tener hijos; cuando se convirtieron en coleccionistas de arte reconocidos; el dolor que supuso la muerte de ella... La otra historia de amor se da entre une joven estudiante de arte y un cowboy que se enamoran perdidamente, a pesar de proceder de ambientes totalmente dispares.
