Description
Budapest, 1944. Budapest, 1944. Hanna and Bora reunite years after their painful divorce. They never imagined they would live under such extreme circumstances. The Nazis have occupied the city and hunt Jews. Bora, an aristocratic painter and diplomat, takes refuge in the basement of his house with his ex-wife and her current husband, both Jews. Andris is the man with whom Hanna cheated. The plot unfolds on two levels: the basement and the house where he lives with Marga Bora, his second wife. Both worlds will enter a silent conflict that dramatically change the lives of the characters. While Bora receives daily visits from a Nazi officer who wants to be portrayed by the eminent artist, the captives find salvation in pleasure. Sex is the purest link to life against the stalking of death.
