Description
"This book includes more than seventy articles by Enrique Lihn, written between 1955 and 1988. Columns, chronicles, lectures, essays, autobiographical texts, open letters, prologues, introductions to catalogs and other pieces in which he reflects on literature, art and politics: the Cuban Revolution, Unidad Popular, the Chilean dictatorship, and works by multiple authors and artists such as Stella Díaz Varín, Heberto Padilla, Alfred Jarry, Cecilia Casanova, Paz Errázuriz, Juan Luis Martínez, Paul Klee, among others. These documents were not previously included in the posthumous books dedicated to his critical, essayistic and journalistic work: El circo en llamas (1997) and Textos sobre arte (2008). The collection is varied, and enriches study of Lihn as a concerned observer of each situation and culture in which he was present."--back cover.
