Für diese Debatten ist eine Kunstakademie der richtige Ort ? an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf entsteht nicht nur Kunst, sondern die Diskussionen darüber sind integraler Bestandteil des Schaffens seit zweieinhalb Jahrhunderten. Es galt, angesichts der Allgegenwärtigkeit des Bildes, das schwierige, vielfach diskutierte Verhältnis von 'Kunst' und 'Bild' auszuloten. Dieser Herausforderung stellten sich Künstler, Philosophen, Kunstpädagogen, Kunst- und Theaterwissenschaftler.
