Johann Georg Scharf, geboren in Mainburg/Hallertau, wirkte in London erfolgreich als Illustrator naturwissenschaftlicher Werke. Nahezu unbekannt geblieben sind jedoch seine zahlreichen Skizzen des Londoner Alltagslebens in der 1. Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Seinerzeit kaum beachtet, sind sie heute von ausserordentlichem dokumentarischen Wert. Exhibition: Hallertauer Heimat- und Hopfenmuseum, Mainburg, Germany (19.5.-30.12.2012).
