Description
Wilhelm Kåge var Sveriges mest kända keramiske konstnär och formgivare under 1900-talets första hälft. Han var Gustavsbergs stora stjärna. Nu har Petter Eklund skildrat hans liv och gärning i en bok. Den unge konstnären och affischmålaren Wilhelm Kåge slog igenom som formgivare på anrika Liljevalchs konsthall 1917. Han blev snabbt Gustavsbergs keramiska designstjärna och lyfte porslinsfabriken in i modern tid, till 'Swedish Grace', art deco och funkis. Han gav Gustavsberg en egen profil genom ett otal serviser, både för kungahus och svenska kök. Storsäljare som 'Pyro' och 'Grå ränder' blev de svenska hemmens käraste vardagsvaror. Kåges elev Stig Lindberg blev så småningom hans kollega.
