Description

This is a slightly surrealist play based on the myth of the Wandering Jew (Juif Errant). The "Wandering Jew" only appears as a kind of spoof character from the audience in the intermede, when the stage manager comes on stage calling for the author. The introduction contains Alexandre's meditation on what it means to be Jewish in light of the events of the war, which had just ended. A Jew himself, he later became Catholic.
