Description

This thesis includes the documentation and source listing of an user friendly interactive computer program that (1) solves simultaneous linear equations, (2) calculates the eigensystems of a square real matrix, and (3) finds the roots of a real polynomial. It is written in PASCAL MT+, the DRI implementation of Pascal, under the CPM86 operating system for the IBM PC. With the use of nested menus and keyboard filtering, the program requires no learning on the user's part. It channels the user in the right direction. Input matrices are entered from the keyboard while the answers may be outputted to the screen and/or printer. The documentation along with the source listing describe how to develop a large, user friendly program through the use of modular techniques such as overlays. (Author)
