Description
Alfred Binet (1857-1911) et Charles Féré (1852-1907) ont publié en 1887 un ouvrage sur le magnétisme animal qui a fait date dans l'histoire de la psychologie. En effet, c'est la première fois que la question de l'hypnose, telle qu'elle était pratiquée à la Salpêtrière, était présentée dans le contexte de recherches expérimentales. Ce livre est l'oeuvre de deux des collaborateurs les plus assidus de Charcot, qui ont pu expérimenter toutes les méthodes de magnétisme, reproduire toutes les expériences relatées par les magnétiseurs, et les soumettre à une analyse critique et sévère.
