Description

The Blue Club is a bridge bidding system developed mainly by Benito Garozzo and Leon Yallouze. It was used by the famous Italian Blue Team (Squadra Azzurra) and became very popular in the 1960s. The system features a strong club opening, four-card majors, and canapé bidding. It aims to find safe slams and establish whether hands are game or slam early in the auction. While non-Blue Club players may consider it complicated, practitioners appreciate its relative naturalness and advantages in certain situations. The Italian team captain, Carl Alberto Perroux, famously said, “a standard Ford, however much jazzed up, won’t beat a Ferrari”
